Obama's First General Election Ad
The Obama campaign wasted little time in showing how they are going to use all the money they expect to rake in now that they have opted out of the public financing system, by announcing the release of Obama's first general-election spot.
The 60-second advertisement, "Country I Love," will air in Alaska, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Virginia starting tomorrow, according to a statement by the campaign. That's 18 states.
The campaign goes on to say that, in the ad, "Senator Obama speaks to voters about the core values this nation was founded on and how they have guided him to work hard for his education, to bypass jobs on Wall Street to work as a community organizer, and to lead the fight for America’s families and veterans as an Illinois and United States Senator. The ad presents Senator Obama’s record of passing laws to reform welfare, to cut taxes for working families, and to ensure America’s veterans have the health care they deserve."

This is exactly what we as a nation should ever be mindful of . . .
and the world needs to constantly hear
The cornerstones of democracy
The Bill of Rights
The Constitution
Freedom of Speech
And, a commitment as a nation
to the rest of the world
Unite to Change!
You left out the most important
In order to enjoy those things One needs to be safe and secure as a people and nation.
The terrorist want to KILL US Dead we will not be able to enjoy any of those items.
Obama and his allies want to appease the terrorist.
Obama is the Neville Chamberlain of our TIME.

Some are for McCain and some are for Obama.
Thank goodness we have a two party system. When things get out of hand, the voters will vote one party out and the other in.
The question is, what do the people think. Do they wish to continue with the republicans or put the democrats in power.
Who has the better track record. Tell me what you think.

It is because we are a nation that values the rights of all that we are strong. This ad exemplifies all that is good about our country and the reasons why some group has always wanted to attack us--I recommend the video "John Adams" to the fake Machiavelli--we've always been a target and we have prevailed. And so we shall prevail again and we shall be strengthened as we unite behind Senator Obama.
Why is willingness to talk perceived as weakness when proposed by Obama; but not when Regan rightly did the same thing with the Chinese? Willingness to talk does not, in itself, constitute readiness to concede anything. Our current approach to diplomacy has not earned us any respect in the world. Teddy Rosevelt was respected when he said "speak softly and carry a big stick." Our military, which Obama does NOT advocate weakening, is our big stick! If we wield it as a bully, as the Bush administration has done for 8 years; we will be hated and feared and attacked, as all bullies are hated , feared, and attacked. If we return to our historic role as champion of the weak and oppressed, we will once again gain the world's respect. First we must heed Teddy Roosevelt's advice and begin to once again speak softly.
Great message. In the end, Obama will win. He is the right candidate at the right time. After the suffering of citizens during the Bush Administration - one of the worst administrations I have seen in my lifetime - everyone truly does want change. We cannot go on as we are...in war, with a mortgage crisis, with a falling dollar, with lay off and declining economy, with healthcare costs increasing, with gas and energy prices unreasonable, with a budget that has gone from surplus to record deficit in these few years...we cannot continue like this. Middle class Americans have suffered as the focus of this Administration has been business and the wealthy. In the end, it won't matter what race Obama is...or frankly if we agree with everything he says...it will just matter that he represents change to a nation hungry for it.
Some Energy Alternatives That Are Relatively Inexpensive And Quick; And, So Far, Completely Ignored:
1) If cities, stock yards, slaughter houses, and daries would bio-digest sewage, animal waste, and wet garbage the methane collected could be used to power vehicles, heat buildings, and produce electricity. Methane is virtually equivalent to natural gas; and could power vehicles in the same way that liquid propane (LP Gas)is used to power fork lifts. The cost of converting a gasoline powered vehicle to methane is between $250 and $400; and would drop substantially with increased demand. This would also have a significant positive impact on water polution and landfill burden. This technology is already developed and is much less expensive and much more productive than other alternative energy technologies.
2)Sawdust, mill waste, and waste lumber from building sites could be made into methanol which has almost as much fuel value as ethanol and would not have the negative impact on the food supply that ethanol from corn has.
3) Instead of seeking ways to burn coal cleanly, (probably an imposibility) we should seek to extract methane or propane from coal; since that is probably more readily acheivable and more versitile in application.
