In the Observer: The Clinton Attack Strategy, Chuck on Superdelegates, McCain's Tightrope

Jason Horowitz talks to some Clinton fund-raisers about the architecture of the campaign’s attack strategy on Barack Obama, talking-points and all. Among other things, campaign staffers sent out (from personal email addresses) a blog post suggesting that Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick hasn’t lived up to his campaign rhetoric since getting into office, and neither would Obama.

Clinton surrogate Bob Kerrey doesn’t seem to like the strategy very much at all.

Azi Paybarah talks to Chuck Schumer about the Clinton superdelegate strategy, and notes that it’s a tough sell.

Steve Kornacki compares the Democratic candidates’ potential coattails, and finds for Obama.

Jennifer Rubin thinks the hard part is yet to come for John McCain in terms of solidifying his support with the conservative base.

Joe Conason thinks McCain needs to start talking about the financial cost of Iraq.
