A spokeswoman for David Paterson confirmed he’ll be participating in events honoring the Pope’s visit to the New York this week.
I'm guessing this won't come up, but it has at least the potential to be an interesting interaction given that Paterson’s chief of staff, Charles O’Byrne, is a former Jesuit priest who left the order and, in 2002, published a 4,000 word article in Playboy about sex in the seminary.
The pope is scheduled make a number of appearances in the city, including a visit to a synagogue on Manhattan’s East Side. It's not clear yet which events Paterson will participate in.
