Paterson Undoing Spitzer's E.D.C. Structure

Here's David Paterson talking about reverting the state Economic Development Corporation to the structure it had before Eliot Spitzer. The former governor created two E.D.C. chairs--one for upstate, one for downstate; Paterson is getting rid of one.

“You can’t have an upstate economic development corporation chair and a downstate one, which is what we have right now,” Paterson said in response to a question during an appearance at the New York Times building yesterday. “We’re going to have one chair of the Empire State Development Corporation because we’re one state.”

In this clip afterwards, Paterson declines to say specifically whether upstate chairman Dan Gundersen, or acting Empire State Development Corporation C.E.O. Avi Schick, will stay in their current positions.

Eliot Brown has more.
