Bloomberg Throws a Hillary Party (Even Better Than Patricof's Pool!)

Michael Bloomberg welcomed Hillary Clinton back into New York’s political scene with a party at Gracie Mansion last night, closing the two-hour party with a live chorus singing “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet.”
Among the guests were Governor David Paterson, Senator Chuck Schumer, Representative Charlie Rangel, Barbara Walters, Chevy Chase and Tina Brown. Inside Edition sent a crew.
After trading jokes about presidential ambitions with the mayor, Clinton told the crowd of political leaders, business tycoons and reporters that she’s happily back at her job as New York’s junior senator.
Standing at a podium beneath a white tent in the mansion’s back yard, Clinton told the crowd she’s glad to see “so many of my friends, catching up with all of you, knowing that many of you put your ideas and your requests on hold, and now, the hold is off. And I am open for business a hundred percent of the time.”
And just in time.
Kennedy Benjamin, whose husband Michael is an Assemblyman in the Bronx, said she wanted to attend because “I wanted to thank her for standing up for us women. And that was really well received between the both of us."
Benjamin said she told Clinton about a program she's organizing with German exchange students in the Bronx, and that Clinton sounded delighted at the prospect.
“As you know, most of Germany is for [Barack] Obama. But I’d like for them to meet Hillary as well, so they can see how great she is,” said Benjamin.
Others took the occasion to reflect on the Clinton experience.
“You could feel the emotion,” businessman and major Democratic money man Alan Patricof said of the event. “There’s such a strong, almost passionate feeling about her and her campaign. People are nostalgic and it takes a little while to get over it all.” He added, “I came in from the Hamptons to come and I’m very glad I did it. It was a lot better than being in my pool.”
Comedian Chevy Chase said, “I think she’s a great woman. Whatever she wants to do, she could pull it off.” Asked if she should run for another office, he said, “What do you want me to say? I’m not going to say she should run for mayor. That would be silly of me. Why should she run for mayor? She’s a great senator.”
Assemblyman Michael Benjamin, who supported Obama during the primary, said he and Clinton had a brief but good conversation at the party. And no, he said, she didn’t notice the little blue-and-white Obama pin he was wearing on his lapel.
“We want to win,” he said afterwards. “Any competition when the game is over, you’ve lost, you move forward and, you know, hail to the new king.”
Earlier in the evening, Clinton joked about her conversation with Mayor Bloomberg.
“I was very touched [by] Mike’s concern for me over these last months,” Clinton told the crowd from the podium. “You know, ever since the campaign ended, and you know, I was really moved that he wanted to talk about the campaign: what happened, how it happened, how you did it, what was the reaction that you got, what was effective and what wasn’t effective, what worked in advertising and direct mail.”
The crowd by this point was in on the joke.
“I mean, he was so interested in me, that I was just transformed. I’ve always liked him but my gosh, I felt so special.”

Hillary and Bill -- It's ALL about "me." ME...ME...ME...ME...ME. Oh...did I tell you about ME...MYSELF...and, ME???
What kind of narcissists can only pivot from SELF -- and call themselves mature and responsible?
What could be more dangerous than a Democratic President and former First Lady -- and a New York Delegation -- who would rather four more years of what we have had, than support the Democratic Nominee.
New Yorkers -- let's turn these fat cats out, one by one. No more commoditizing the interests of the American people.

Despite Media Narrative, Obama Leads By Over 100 Electoral Votes According To Independent Groups
Posted August 4, 2008 | 09:47 PM (EST)
With all the breathlessness over the minute movements in the irrelevant national polls, the one thing no one seems to be noticing is that the electoral map is still trending very poorly for John McCain (R).
I realize that it cuts against the media narrative right now to focus on anything that doesn't suggest a dead-heat, but it's quite instructive to see how the independent groups (and even right-leaning ones) currently see the state of the race through the only prism that matters -- the Electoral College....
HILLARY IS A DOG ... A MUTT LIKE HER HUSBAND.
Bloomberg would suck up to anyone to get some attention.
Bill says he is not Racist; he just speaks like one. !
And he just thinks a black should not be president.
Only Charlie Rangel would belive Billary.
==================
Thank you Sen. Clinton. You did marvelous. You didn't compromised your integrity and changed your principle just to get more votes. You make us proud. Voting for you means we don't have to deal with regret and disappointment.
We will take it from here. We will put your name in the nomination ballot. And we will vote for you. You will see. You will win us the White House. We won't settle for anything less.
PUMA Power!
Wow. These first few comments are exactly why Hillary must be at the TOP of the ticket. Only she can lead us during this cynical and scary time. I feel like people have lost their collective minds - she is the best this country has to offer and right now WE NEED THE BEST. Obama will not win and we'll be stuck with 4 years of McCain. She shouldn't waste her talents being the VP when she'll be the brains and Obama will get all the credit. I can only pray the Super Delegates come to their senses and realize the only Democrat who can take back the White House is Clinton.
WOW:
Those first few comments were so intelligently thought out and quite eloquent. I really want Obama supporters in charge. This is sarcasm folks.
As always, we see what type of tone the Barack people set and what type of leadership Obama represents. Thank you, no, I will be voting for McCain if the pledged and superdelegates continue with this train wreck of a liberal leftist running to the right; and please keep thinking that we are all "cloaked republicans"...the shock in November will be more than you can bear.
At least Senator Clinton said that she wouldn't campaign on any issue in the primaries differently than she would in the general. And guess what, she wouldn't have....
Hele On PUMAs!!
and for the editors of The New York Observer; here is my most recent letter to the sds. Enjoy.

Where does the information come from regarding McCain? It's the anointed one that's tanking. The remark: Me me me; please, who looks at himself as the "choosen one?" When commenting, at least do your homework. People didn't vote for BHO because they knew who he was and didn't like him.
We've been called all sorts of names, and it's okay, I consider the source. The one thing that can't be taken away from us is our vote. We are the largest movement in the history of the U.S. that is voting against a candidate. Does this not mean anything to Obama supporters? Could it be perhaps we have documented material which proves why we don't support him?
I'd rather vote for a war hero, who loves his country, than a questionable candidate with questionable friends.
PUMA
So Bill is a racist? Sure didn't seem like folks felt that way when he was given a standing ovation at Coretta Scott King's funeral. How quickly folks forget. Go to YouTube for the video. Senator Clinton ran her campaign well and was surging at the end of the primaries. I think the fact that she has shown such grace and yes, a sense of HUMOR, at this point let's us all know what we have lost during this primary. A true leader. The DNC...once again managing to snatch defeat from the certain jaws of victory.
