Polls: Obama Leads N.C., Indiana Close

Here's an idea of where the polls are on the eve of the North Carolina and Indiana primaries.

Barack Obama leads Hillary Clinton among North Carolina Democrats definitively in polls released today from A.R.G (50-42), Zogby (48-40) and Public Polling Policy (53-43). A third poll from Insider Advantage shows him leading by only three points, 48-45, which is within the margin of error, but the data for that survey was collected in only one day (May 4).

In Indiana the contest is more difficult to predict, partially because Republicans and independents can also vote. Of two polls released so far today, A.R.G. has Clinton leading Obama 53-45, while Zogby shows a statistical tie (Obama 44, Clinton 42). Most polls have showed Clinton ahead.
