Post Reporter Ken Lovett to Move From Dicker to News
New York Post reporter Ken Lovett is leaving for the New York Daily News, where he’ll compete head-to-head with his former partner, the Albany titan Fred Dicker.
The shift was confirmed by a reporter in Albany who said Lovett has already cleared out his desk and begun the move. A Daily News publicist declined to comment.
Lovett, whose been churning out stories in Albany for more than a decade, will also be joined by another, as-yet-unhired Albany reporter, fully staffing the Daily News’ Albany bureau. And, of course, they've already got Liz. Not bad.
The current Daily News Albany bureau chief, Joe Mahoney, is staying on for a week and taking a buyout package.

Liz Benjamin was apoplectic upon hearing about Lovett becoming her new boss. Benjamin, sources inside The Daily News say, demanded a prompt meeting with Mort Zuckermann or said she'd take Lovett's old gig at the Post.
Joe Mahoney's departure is old news. The Daily News has been trying to force Mahoney out the door since his DWI arrest last year. Mahoney apparently slipped and that gave The Daily News all it needed to let him move the party to another bar.
I'll confess to being biased, but my own view is
that my former colleague Joey Mahoney is as good as they come.
