CBRE NAMED EXCLUSIVE AGENT FOR HEARST TOWER RETAIL
Two Prime Retail Spaces Available in Award-Winning Tower near Time Warner Center
New York, NY – October 6, 2008 – CB Richard Ellis announced today that it has been named exclusive retail leasing agent for Hearst Tower, an award-winning structure located on the southwest corner of Eighth Avenue and 57th Street. In close proximity to Time Warner Center, Hearst Tower has two prime, ground-floor retail opportunities available for lease. They include:
- 12,210 square feet for a single tenant, or to be divided into smaller units;
- 2,510 square feet for a single tenant
“Hearst Tower is a remarkable building, with a special place in Manhattan,” said Richard Hodos, executive vice president, CBRE, who is marketing the retail with David LaPierre, senior vice president, Steve Sjurset, senior associate, and Janelle Rovegno, associate, who will be working with William Shanahan, vice chairman, to bring in new tenants. Hodos explained that they are targeting upper-moderate-to-better retailer that will relate to the Hearst brand, as well as to the award-winning tower and the West Side neighborhood, which has undergone a transformation, beginning with Time Warner Center. “This is a great opportunity, with the combination of a skyline building and the level of foot traffic any retailer would desire.”
Owned and occupied by media giant Hearst Corporation, the architecturally magnificent and award-winning tower—declared New York City’s first green building—sits on an historic base from the original 1928 structure. Redesigned by architect Lord Norman Foster, the new exterior honeycomb of steel allows the interior work areas to remain uncluttered by pillars and walls, providing spectacular views of the city from most work-floor vantage points.
