HarperCollins will rush the paperback edition of Roger Director's I Dream in Blue, an anguished love letter to the New York Giants from the perspective of a frustrated lifelong fan, to stores at the end of this month, according to Harper Perennial publisher Carrie Kania.

Ms. Kania said Mr. Director will add two chapters to the book, which came out in hardcover last September, to reflect the fact that the Giants actually won the Super Bowl on Sunday. Ms. Kania said Mr. Director, who has written about the Giants for this Web site, saw the game live and in person, along with his editor, HarperCollins executive editor David Hirshey.

"I’m assuming one [of the chapters] will be about the season and one about the Super Bowl," Ms. Kania said, adding that a new cover is being chosen to reflect the Giants' victory.

Ms. Kania said Mr. Director's book will undoubtedly be one of many Giants books released in the next few months. So far, two have surfaced: one on the season from the New York Post in conjunction with Chicago-based sports publisher Triumph Books and one just on Eli Manning by New York Daily News beat reporter Ralph Vacchiano, from Skyhorse Publishing. The New York Times has decided not to do a Giants book, according to the paper's editorial director of book development. "It’s going to be a crowded field and quickly, so we decided against it," Mr. Ward said.

This does not bother Mr. Hirshey, who passed on a comment to the Media Mob through Ms. Kania: “Surely there'll be the requisite quickie books but Roger Director's writing and Super Bowl reporting is based on a lifetime of loyalty," Mr. Hirshey said, according to Ms. Kania. "Let other people jump on the bandwagon, Roger has been driving it for 50 years."
