On Sunday, September 7, the Moeller Snow gallery space on Bond street played host to a group of young, playfully disheveled, downtown types who had gathered there to hear the Swedish indie singer, Lykke Li perform, an event that was thrown together by Justin Kern of the Los Angeles-based boutique and event space, Not To Be Reproduced.
While guests like designer Erin Wasson and stylist Anastasia Barbieri awaited Ms. Li's performance, actress Kirsten Dunst arrived with Scott Sternberg, the designer behind Band of Outsiders for whose Saturday evening show Ms. Dunst was a model. This appearance was hardly unusual for the actress, who has become a regular at these sorts of events. (The recipe for a Kirsten Dunst-attended event these days seems to be quite formulaic: somewhere below 23rd Street + Indie music + guests that would fit a shoot for Nylon magazine.)
Ms. Dunst was dressed in a fitted black dress with a low back. And when Ms. Li took the stage, the actress leaned against the back wall, swaying to the music and chatting with some of the other guests. She was not the only Hollywood import at the downtown venue. Milling about a few feet away from her, was Entourage actor, Adrian Grenier accompanied by a young woman with Dorothy braids and a long skirt. (One female guest quipped that just as she was chatting with the actor, Ms. Dunst came along and asked to steal him away for a moment.)
After the show, she went outside and smoked a cigarette alongside a young male guest. "I'm Kirsten," she said after they had struck up a conversation. Amongst the crowd there was talk of heading to Beatrice, or perhaps Santo's Party House. Daily Transom spotted actor Dean Winters riding up on a bike. It was time to go home.
