Tim Gunn is Not Fond of Cindy McCain's 'Face-Lift' Hairdo

Michelle Obama or Cindy McCain?

That's what Tim Gunn was asked as part of Time 's 10 Questions feature, and to which it seemed he gave a fairly benign answer:

Michelle Obama. Absolutely. She looks so comfortable and relaxed in her style, in her fashion, and she exudes that. She has a presence that gives you confidence in her.

But New York Magazine's The Cut fashion blog discovered that in the videotaped version of the Q&A, the Project Runway host gave a rather more severe answer. After giving praise to Mrs. Obama, he compares her to Mrs. McCain, whom he says "looks like someone has twisted her ponytail into a knot and tried to give her a face-lift." Zing!

Also, of note: Mr. Gunn refers to himself in third person, beginning the interview by saying: "Tim Gunn is absolutely, completely floored, and exhilarated and thrilled to be here!" O.K., wow.

Please- Sexism and talking about fashion, how she looks etc is over in the USA. Or is it? If I have to put up with the press for 4 years of this Cr-p I can not bare it. What a first lady wears- pearls or diamonds.... Who the hell cares! I would feel better about voting for Michele for President rather than her husband. Strong women scare the heck out of our Society. We like our women to stay at home in their place. Clean the house, go to work, take care of the children, do the wash. Do it all! Women of our nation- it is time you accept your birth right and not what others have handed down as tokens. Women and good Men have fought hard for your rights. Women UP! Stand up, Speak Up, Clear your heads of limitations and what you can or can not do. A women is capable of leading our nation and resolving our War in Iraq and our Economy - As a Clinton supporter I am voting for Hillary Clinton in November- It will either be for president (Write in) or Vice-President (appointed by Mr. Obama) Never, ever, under-estimate the power of a women.

Cindy McCain kind of looks a bit druggie. She seems so sedated in interviews and kind of not there. She's not as engaged as Michelle. Michelle Obama is all there and has an excellent sense of fashion. She's beautiful and looks as though she works out, but not anorexic. She just looks normal. Michelle is beautiful and intelligent, and I hope she is our first lady.

She looks like a high-end Stepford wife, or maybe a robot....
