Superdelegate: All That Pissing Will Leave a Stain

Steven Ybarra, a California superdelegate who heads the voting-rights committee of the DNC Hispanic Caucus, said that he would decide which candidate to support based solely on who would best deliver for Latinos.
"Which of these two candidates," he asked, "is going to step up to the plate and say, here is our $10 million and commit this money to making sure that Latinos get educated, that they get registered and that they turn out to vote."
Asked if Bill Richardson's endorsement of Barack Obama mattered to him, Ybarra said, "If he becomes vice president it means a lot. Now I mean the odds of him being vice president for the Clinton campaign just went down with the Judas comment."
Ybarra said the Clinton campaign had been imploring him to stay neutral until the convention, but he said he thought that the increasing negativity will make it hard for the party to unify behind the eventual nominee.
"If I piss on your leg, and the next day I say I didn't really mean to piss on your leg, but if you look down and see the yellow stain, you're going to say, 'Come on,'" he said. "They're both being idiotic about this stuff. Let's get down to the simple hardcore issue: What are you going to do for Mexican-American voters?"

F-L-A-S-H URGENT ..........."SUPERDELEGATES PRIMARY." -- The Democrats are now floating the idea of holding a 'SUPER-DELEGATES PRIMARY' in June, prior to the party's Convention in August. --- THIS IS AN INSANE IDEA. --- At the SUPERDELEGATES PRIMARY, largely in private, the party presidential nominee would be chosen by the "party's professional politicians." --- The Superdelegates … THIS WILL SURELY DESTROY THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY -- IT MUST STOPPED.

One would think that in this day and age the ethnic pandering would no longer exist, but here we go again with the "what will you do for latinos" bs. Why would any candidate pledge to do more for one race/ethnic group over another? Is that not considered racism?
God it's good to be a Republican....and fun to watch the Dems sling the mud! Yeehah!
Bring on the "superdelagate convention", fights to include Michigan and Florida delagates which shouldn't have been excluded in the first place (perhaps when those states go heavily Republican in November the Dems will FINALLY get smart and let the door hit McCauliff's ass on the way out of the DNC - but that is giving them too much credit...
Now there is talk about throwing in Gore with either Clinton or Hussein as a "compromise"?
Oh God I'm going to love this election year. Only question is what type of Democratic party is going to survive this mess....

Hopefully, President Obama's day one activity will be to give Texas back to the Mexicans and build a wall around it. We would never have to see President Chicken Hawk again. Perhaps Senator Senile from Arizona might want to retire to Texas,
It's an ugly state with ugly people.
(However, we will miss Austin.)
god care him. by the way, i just heard Britney can't sing, but an older balck woman instead on intimatemingle.com which is a dating site for interracial singles.it's really unbelievable!
I agree with "anonymous" above that Steven Ybarra, who heads the voting-rights committee of the DNC Hispanic Caucusis, is merely voicing the RACISM DU JOUR accepted around the USA.
Perhaps any money from Clinton or Obama would be best spent on preventing (require vaccines!) those entering the USA from south of the border from bringing tuberculosis and mumps. SEE: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/21/us/21vaccine.html?ex=1363838400&en=670...
Welcome to "Panderfest 2008!" It's a race to see who will promise the most stuff, to the most people... all the while maintaining the appearance that they are independent elected leaders who act in the best interest of the country.
If the superdelegates or the "establishment" make the decision against the will of the people for the good of the "party" isn't that "COMMUNISM"?
Calling President McCain, calling President McCain....
I understand that the "superdelegates" are a replacement of the smoke filled room (what state still allows that?) In the bad old days, the party elders met in private and "selected" someone for us to vote for. Even now, if you read the fine print, even regular delegates can give the finger to their voters and pledge to someone else. This is handy with, for example, John Edwards delegates who can switch to someone left. It's not so good if they defy the voters. The only long term solution is a national primary, with a run-off if no one gets more than 33% (pick a number, this number is based on four viable candidates splitting the vote.) The two top vote getters in the primary would vie in the run-off. No stupid conventions, back room deals or "superdelagates!"
I didn't know Obama and Hillary were in to Golden Showers!
Please Pennsylvanians, join Rush Limbaugh and his Operation Chaos 2008. Together we can help make the Democratic convention meltdown this summer.

Can this guy do anything besides think about mexican people? It's bad enough I live in california and have to look at them all day! Now he wants me to think about them too? I really don't appreciate the comment Ybarra made about latinos contributing more to this country than all other minority group. Is he crazy? I beleive that the influx of illegal immigrants from Mexico is draining the hell out of not just California but the whole country. These people lower wages, consume resources and burden the education system. But I guess they're just doing what they always intended to do, "Take back California without firirng a single shot!"
How can this guy be a superdelegate. Shouldn't his vote go for the candidate who best serves all citizens of our country not just the ones from his background/ethnicity. 20 million dollars is really nothing in big politics but saying blantantly, pay up for my vote. This is why our country is a joke.
