Susan Sarandon is Disappointed in Hillary, the Press

Getty Images

When we ran into Susan Sarandon over the weekend at the TFF premiere of Speed Racer, we wondered if the actress still stood by her endorsement of Barack Obama given all the talk of the senator's dropping numbers.

And she does! Here's what the actress had to say about the current state of the democratic candidacy:

"Yes, I'm voting for Obama. I think that the press has been encouraging as many distracting issues as possible, things that aren't even issues that go on and on and on. It's just getting to a point where people are exhausted of hearing these things going back and forth. I don't think they're asking the right questions and I'm disappointed in Hillary Clinton."

Yeah...what she said.

I'm a woman Sarandon's age and I too am disappointed in Hillary. I have been an Obama supporter from the beginning, but I was very proud to see a woman also in the race for the nomination. Now, I can barely stand to look at her, and I am deeply ashamed of how she has run her campaign. She does no credit to her sex, or feminism for that matter. To my mind, Obama is the true feminist and Hillary the true politician, in the worst sense of the word.

The media does not ask the right questions. The ABC debate was a new low, but it's all been pretty dismal. What started out as such a thrilling and momentous event in this nation's history has deteriorated into a depressing 24-7 spectacle of talking heads screaming at one another about nothing that matters in the least.

Who cares what a leftie bimbo thinks- Obama is a media made candidate with no real experience except reading a teleprompter like the good actor he is.

Where's the beef??

Susan Sarandan, in supporting Obama, shows where her brains are. Why is she disappointed in Hillary? The character that Hillary shows is nothing in which to be disappointed. To back a person so lacking in credentials as Obama shows she is not basing her choice on credentials but a personal bias and that is no way to chose a president. Apparently she, like Pelosi, puts herself ahead of the good of the country.

I am also Sarandons age and I could not disagree more with you. The statement that Obama is a true femanist is garbage. He Was made and promoted by the media. He was backed by Hillary haters who wanted to bring her down. If you had the least amount of backbone you would admire Hillary for the qualities she shows to which very few women can compare. You criticize her for being a politican. What would you expect her to be when she has to compete against men, other politicans, and not the least women like you who fail to admire her good qualities and envy them? Of course she has failings, then she is not the perfect almighty Obama, but the qualities she does have outnumber those failings. You, not Hillary, can put yourself in the disgraceful women category.
