Mysterious Cruise Scientology Video: We Are 'the Authorities on the Mind'

A mysterious, nine-minute-long video of Tom Cruise talking about the power of Scientology disappeared as mysteriously as it appeared, according to the Huffington Post. The official church video reportedly features the 45-year-old actor saying, “We are the way to happiness.”

Apparently the media outlet was sent links to the video, which has since been removed, from investigative reporter Mark Ebner. In a new unauthorized biography by Andrew Morton, the author claims that Mr. Cruise is the second most powerful person in Scientology, a religion founded by the late science-fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard, behind current leader David Miscavige. During the videotaped interview, Mr. Cruise is also quoted as saying that Scientologists are “the authorities on the mind,” and, according to the blog, “the only people who can bring peace and unite cultures.”

He isn't Gay. No physical evidence going as far back as 30 years, please! You'd have to be an idiot to think he was. I really don't see the big deal about anything he believes in. It all seems very uninteresting to me!

I think these people are dangerous...at least at the lower levels...my own experience with a friend who change his whole personality to the extent that he became alien to us...to the people who love him. Now, in the beginning he seemed alright, and some of his new thoughts seemed harmless; however, as time passed he became a different person and even began to take a certain look which he shared with his new found friends. It was also a point of menacing other who disagreed with them...my friend, an open minded person, a free thinker, suddenly became a sort of robotic reactionary who locked himself off from any ideas that did not originate from Scientology. Now, Hubbard was a man who took from many areas of science and then transformed those truisms into his own type of metaphysics that distorted and over simplified the original meaning of whole texts and thoughts. Thank you.

What is Scientology?

It is a religion founded by L. Ron Hubbard in 1955 and characterized by a belief in the power of a person's spirit to clear itself of past painful experiences through self-knowledge and spiritual fulfilment.
Whats wrong with it? We all have our beliefs and in the democratic world that we live in, I believe every human being has the right to follow and believe what he truly feels regardless of what other may think or perceive of him to be.

Trevor (not verified) says:

All religion is pretty stupid and pointless but scientology really takes the cake when it comes to believing in stupid things.
