Glenn Beck Releases YouTube Vid on His Botched Surgery, Says He Was "Full-Fledged Suicidal"

In what might someday be studied in public-relations classes as an example of why not to make public statements when you're still suffering from the aftermath of a bad hospitalization and apparently shaking off a heavy dose of painkillers, CNN Headline News star Glenn Beck has just released a video on YouTube.

In the vid, Mr. Beck, unshaven and emotionally on edge, speaks directly to the camera for more than seven long minutes about his recent surgery (for what? it's unclear), how it went awry, and how he was left on the brink of suicide as a result. Mr. Beck, while tearing up at times, called the weekend hospitalization "one of the darkest moments" of his life, spoke of "drug-induced" visions, and said the experience could have been a scene from the horror movie Saw.

"By Saturday night, if they would have come into the room with a handgun and said, 'okay we can give you some more medication or we can give you this handgun, and you can go ahead and blow your brains out' I would have honestly taken a handgun at that point and ended it," said Mr. Beck.

The Media Mob wishes Mr. Beck a speedy recovery, complete with lots of chicken noodle soup and, um, no more YouTube videos.

I just watched the video...and I truly liked the rawness of Glenn. We just do not see that in anyone of the public stage. Thanks Glenn for taking a risk and sharing personal struggles. God knows that many, many folks in this country are dealing with the same things. I am wishing you a speedy recovery Glenn!

Hmm... not sure what it could be. He seems traumatized enough. The only thing I can think of that would affect someone in that way as the result of surgery is if he awoke under anesthesia, and was immobilized and unable to signal the pain he was feeling in surgery. Often called "unintended intra-operative awareness", it must be horrifying like the situations he described in the movie "Saw".

That would not explain his comments on the quality of his doctors and indictment of the hospital, but just my theory.

to bad he didn't die

A handgun is still an option.

hey anonymous
whats it like to be an abject total coward?

Get well ya sick freak. Know you're in my prayers. Give us some sort of heads up here on what happened. Seriously worried.

BTW, a buck says the people who botched it work in a Jersey hospital. I would LOVE to know just where he was "treated".

If it was Palisades- he's lucky to get away with his frickin' life. "Arrive in stable, leave in critical" is their current motto.

Another abject lesson in tolerance and compassion from the liberal wing of today's world. This is the kind of thing that makes me expect liberals to eventually attempt to force their views on anyone who doesn't go along to get along. Re-education camps are a real possiblity. So are all of the other tactics of those heroes of the left, the Communists. Nothing like a vacation in Siberia to change your outlook.

Of course it's sometimes quicker just to put an end to the problem on the spot. Stalin had lists he would sift through picking names at random for execution. The ideals of the left are a shining example of how humans can go down the toilet deliberately with gusto. After all who else can claim 100 million dead in their wake. Hitler can't. Only the Commies can do that. And we have a nation of people who want to head down that same path.

I wonder if they even know they won't be able to pull it off in a land that has known freedom. They might succeed in soaking every inch of ground in blood but they won't conquer the human spirit here. Heck it didn't even work in Russia eventually. What more proof do you need?

So go ahead and preach your venom and hate. Freedom lovers will be waiting for you when the time comes.

Anonymous.....How do you get through life with an attitude like that? Let me guess...you one of those "tolerant liberals" who only tolerate lock-step liberal group think. Glenn Beck is thousands of times a better person than you will ever hope to be. He would forgive you for your statement. That's not something I think I could do.

You should be ashamed.

And yes Jeff is right....you are a total abject coward.

Anonymous (not verified) says:

what kind of surgery did he have?

Doug Flynn (not verified) says:

I'm guessing it was a liver transplant or a male enhancement procedure, possibly both.

Anonymous (not verified) says:

Most non sensical rant since Brando in Apocalypse Now. The oscar goes to.

Anonymous (not verified) says:

what was the surgery for ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Anonymous (not verified) says:

so, you must be a liberal.

Anonymous (not verified) says:

Wonder if Olbermann was the surgeon?

Anonymous (not verified) says:

you sound like your ready for a straight jacket.

Anonymous (not verified) says:

"King" whoever you are

Anonymous (not verified) says:

Yeah, Jeff and Hugh G Rection are right... Anonymous, you're a total coward!! Because we know they used real names.

So, here's my thought too: "Let's make it 4 for 4!" Seriously, do the fans of this guy really think he's stable? Now, or ever?

Anonymous (not verified) says:

Based on his reluctance to disclose, I am guessing penile implant or penis enhancement.

Anonymous (not verified) says:

The surgery was to remove his head from his ass. It didn't work.

mombot (not verified) says:

I'm guessing roid surgery or colon-somethin-or-other since guys are generally more embarassed of admitting something wrong with their arse than if they were stripped butt-nekkid and thrown on the field at Super Bowl half time.

Hormonedoctor (not verified) says:

I'm guessing it was for hemorrhoids. Yeah, that's some painful shit right there.

Cork (not verified) says:

Guy's an idjit, but his seven minute spiel was better han Leno's monologue. This is the great thing about YouTube and similar. Drunks, drugged up self-pitiers, the insane, and similar can get their message out there sans Filter.

Hey, dude, sorry if they were chopping you up while you were awake, but you are a Bozo.

Apparently those interested in protecting you kept a loaded pistol out of your hands, but let you have a loaded Camcorder.

Can't WAIT to hear your take on Compassion.

Stan Blake (not verified) says:

I think this is nothing more than publicity to keep ratings up there. They didn't give him a handgun, and his management wouldn't let him do this if they thought it was going to harm him. Publicity, free publicity via You Tube, thats all. Someone this popular and successful has gate keepers everywhere to keep him from imploding. Every one around him is going to keep him from making too big of a mistake cause they all lose if he fails. Evet one needs to quit buying into his dementia he sometimes appears to make you believe he has. I like him, but I don't take him too seriously, he just makes you go huh sometimes, get a grip.

To all those whom post anonymously, and wish others with differing opinions ill will. May you all get what is coming to you in return for your complete lack of compassion for another's pain and suffering whether it be physical or mental. I would be willing to bet you are all living in the so called "hate free cities", such as San Francisco, Berkeley, etc, etc, etc. You are truly pathetic excuses for human beings.

Right-Winger (not verified) says:

Beck is too-left wing, touchy-feely, for me. I would have offered him a gun.
