Weinsteins Reunite With Old Producer for Time of My Life
The Weinstein Co. has partnered up with old pal producer Meryl Poster to adapt Allison Winn Scotch's chick-lit novel Time of My Life into a movie. The Weinsteins just acquired the screen rights to the novel, which Random House will publish in October, according to Variety.
Ms. Poster previously shepherded such big-time hit films as Emma, The Cider House Rules, Chocolat and Cold Mountain for the Weinstein Company. But then she signed a deal at NBC Universal in 2005, and has been consulting for the network and Bravo ever since. After NBC passed on Time of My Life, she approached her old bosses.
The novel, says Variety, "focuses on a thirtysomething housewife who gets a chance to go back in time to eliminate the lingering doubts about what might have happened had she not settled down." Ho hum.
