WLIW-21 Presents The Jews of New York

On Jan. 9, PBS stations around the country will begin airing a new three-part documentary called The Jewish Americans, narrated by Liev Schreiber, chronicling 350 years of the Jewish American experience of immigration and assimilation in the U.S. from the 17th century to the present.

Eleven days later, WLIW-21 will debut a sidecar documentary, called The Jews of New York.

According to a recent press release, the locally focused documentary will be narrated by actor Tovah Feldshuh (nee Terri Fairchild) and feature profiles of influential Jewish individuals and institutions from throughout the city's history, ranging from Dr. Arthur Aufses to mayor (and film critic!) Ed Koch.

"The Jews of New York," kicks off on WLIW-21 on Sunday, Jan. 20, at 8 p.m.
