Writer Joshua Stein Still/Actually/Finally Leaving Gawker
January 31, 2008 | 8:32 a.m.
In the mundane setting of its morning Gossip Round-Up, Gawker blogger Joshua Stein announced this morning that he really is leaving the site this time.
After one false goodbye, I'm really leaving Gawker forever after I Photoshop a picture of Bart Simpson onto Tom Cruise's head. To all my readers and commenters, thank you and farewell! Oh yeah, I'm coming back to New York in February (the "lady" I'm "making a go of it" with is transferring to NYC!)
The last line refers to an interview with Media Mob in which Stein said he was moving to England to pursue a relationship and unnamed projects. Word was he'd be leaving at the same time as Choire Sicha and Emily Gould, at the end of 2007, but he had seemed to unquit for a few weeks at the beginning of this year.
