Rupert Murdoch Makes an Awkward Phone Call to Albany
Around noon today, News Corp. chair Rupert Murdoch called Governor David Paterson in Albany to apologize for a rather damning remark he made about the governor earlier this week, according to the Daily News.
At Monday's Wall Street Journal's CEO Council, Rupert Murdoch responded to a question about the infantile state of political discourse by saying, in part: "The Governor is a very nice and honest man who's blind and can't read Braille and doesn't really know what's going on."
A source close to Mr. Paterson--who yesterday criticized the media for being too sensational in its coverage of him--told the Daily News that the governor was willing to consider it a "random misstatement."
