Gingrich: A Vote for Hoffman Is a Vote for Pelosi
ALBANY—Former House speaker Newt Gingrich never mentioned Doug Hoffman's name during a radio appearance this morning, but had a clear message for Republicans in the 23rd Congressional District: "The vote you're going to cast for a third-party candidate is going to guarantee the election of a Democrat. If you think that adding another vote to Nancy Pelosi's majority is a good idea, that keeping Nancy Pelosi as speaker is a good idea, then it's fine. But don't kid yourself."
"John McHugh is a moderate Republican, he's held the seat for a very long time, I think 20 years," Gingrich, who has endorsed Republican Dede Scozzafava, told Joe Donahue on WAMC's The Roundtable. "She's not dramatically different from McHugh. So in that sense, it would be like electing someone who's like a Republican from that part of the state."
Gingrich then sounded a similar theme as an appearance on Fox News earlier this week where he called out Sarah Palin and Tim Pawlenty for endorsing Hoffman.
"But the question I raise to all of my friends around the country is, if we all claim we don't want Washington to be in charge of everything and we all claim we want local control, and we want the 10th Amendment respected and we want to return power to the state and local level, how come when the New York State Republicans in four separate meetings make the same unanimous choice and at all four meetings pick Dede Scozzafava, how come that's somehow not good enough?" Gingrich said. "And we're now going to impose our judgment from all over the country even though we don't live there, we weren't part of the meetings, we didn't see hat happened, and I think that's a very bad policy. I think that we have some obligation to respect the fact that Georgia's not the same as New York and New York's not the same as California, and California's not the same as Alaska. I think we ought to be a little cautious about trying to impose our national genes on a local community."

The GOP needs to go, or they need to be torn apart and rebuilt quickly. Which is it, they are losing voters faster than ever when the pull crap like this!
Newt STILL doesn't get it!
Conservative American's don't want someone who is "like a Republican" we want someone who IS a Republican. A representative of THE PEOPLE who will stand up against big-mouth liar Pelosi for our conservative values. Does Newt still not understand that we don't care what 'party' your connected to, it is your values and backbone that we are voting for. Sorry Newt, but you just lost my vote for 2012.
A vote for Hoffman would be a vote for THE PEOPLE! The AMERICAN PEOPLE, the LEGAL citizens of this great Country.....remember us Newt??
GOP blinded by the R
Always liked Newt, very smart, and right in many ways. But, just because you have a R behind your name does not make you good for the country. Since when did the GOP start thinking that being almost liberal is good. Shame! Take the blinders off GOP before its to late. A vote for Hoffman is just the beginning in taking back America from those who want to do her harm. Take heed we do not see parties anymore, its about values that made our country great.
It's Not a Vote For Pelosi, It's a Vote For Conservatism
Mr. Gingrich simply isn’t getting the message Tea Partiers are trying so hard to send. Conservatives don’t want “moderate Republicans”, they want conservatives. Whether that means we have to risk losing a few races now, or we actually succeed and win it, the effort will mean a win for conservatives, because before the GOP gets it, they must understand we mean business. We must get the message across that we will not be controlled by fear-mongering any longer. In trying to insure we listen to him by calling it “a win for Pelosi”, Gingrich is doing that very thing, he is creating fear to control the segment of the population he needs to control. It is wrong and it has to stop.
I’m sorry Mr. Gingrich, but you kicked that dog the moment you walked away from your Contract With America. We don’t believe you are THE conservative voice anymore. Once burnt, twice shy…all that.
You certainly are not the conservative voice at this moment Mr. Gingrich, right now you are simply toeing the party line and we all know it. You, Mr. Steele and the GOP really need to understand the party line no longer cuts it with us. The Sleeping Giant is AWAKE!
Right now Mr. Gingrich, Mr. Hoffman is the conservative voice and all of conservative America is climbing behind him because his is the first meaningful election since we gave our country away last year. And by you saying that local elections shouldn’t be attended to by the general population, might I remind you that you are not a New Yorker living in Albany and yet you are supporting the liberal moderate RINO Scozzafava, as is the RNC who so relentlessly pursues our dollars….
When exactly are we supposed to be concerned with the Congresspersons being elected? Only when you or the GOP tells us to? Perhaps when the RNC takes our donations and floods the playing field for the moderate/
liberal ‘conservative’ with our dollars? Or should it wait until perhaps when they are actually in office signing on to TARP or cozying up to the Spendocrats to spend our money collectively?
No. Politics are changing in America Mr. Gingrich, the people are taking it back. We are awake, we are watching and we are silent no more.
Stop fighting us and join us, or we stop buying your books, donating to your causes and listening to you.
It’s that simple.
It’s that real.
You don’t seem to understand that we aren’t Republicans, Democrats or Independents, we are the people. We are U.S. Constitution believing citizens who believe that the founders had it right and we have NO REASON to back away from that.
We know we can’t spend ourselves into “prosperity”, we bought the lie and it blew up in our faces. We get that it is just a shiny new phrase that simply means politicians want to redistribute our wealth, obviously to themselves with pay raises, repatriating terrorists, buying up companies, and giving to banks filled with toxic debt! We get the idea of privatizing gains while publicizing losses.
We finally realize that the only difference between the accepted parties at this time is how quickly and to what degree they believe they can achieve the goal of centralized government (while ensuring themselves power in perpetuity)!
The Problem is that the politicians don’t yet understand that we get it now. That it is simply a question of what level of socialism they are trying to bring to bear upon us, not whether or not it will be crammed down our throats.
We believe we CAN fix these problems as capitalists, we can still work with other countries (been doing so for centuries), we CAN still have tolerance (as long as you will afford us the same luxury) but we cannot support huge centralized government or lose our sovereignty over who is the turtle and who is the rabbit as far as bankrupting us and our country goes.
Take a minute Mr. Gingrich to listen to the shocking Dobbs video from October 26th, 2009 and the 45th anniversary week of this Reagan speech from Tuesday to get the message. The difference now is that the threat they both speak of is not external anymore, it is strictly internal within our own government.
This is our last best shot to begin to fix the destruction and waste government and special interest has thrust upon us, and we will take it.

I've always respected Mr. Gingrich until now. He has chosen to support politics over principles.
Newt

Newt
Why isn't Newt, Rush, Sean Hannity, etc. pressing the Republican Party to support Conservatives instead of pressing Conservatives to support the Republican Party. I have lost some respect for Newt. After reading his last book I had some hope that things may change, but the same old politics remains. I guess he didn't really mean what his book said. He apparently has no faith in doing the right thing no matter what.
I am an ex-Republican and always a Conservative. It is time for a true Conservative Party. Where is someone who can champion our cause now that Newt has removed himself from our ranks?
The "lesser-of-two-evils" argument has gotten us into the mess we are in. The Republican Party has been using us Conservatives just like the Democratic Party has been using minorities for a long time. The two parties have made it very difficult for any other parties to get onto many state balots. They protect themselves at the expense of our Nation. It is time for them ALL to go.
Newt
Why aren't Newt, Rush, Hannity, etc. pressing the Republican Party to back Conservatives, instead of pressing Conservatives to back the Republican Party?
We Conservatives have been used by the Repub. Party just like minorities have been used by the Democratic Party. Lots of promises with token results. The "lesser of two evils" argument has gotten us into this mess.
We need a volunteer to start a true Conservative Party where we can truly be represented. The two major Parties have made it very difficult for other Parties to get onto many state ballots. It is time for them ALL to go.
Newt
I'd always thought that Newt was one of the good guys. I am so disappointed!
What's happened to Newt?
I'd always thought that Newt was one of the good guys. I suppose being a R is more important than anything else. I'm very disappointed.
Newt
I have been in your corner for a long time, but you screwsd
the pooch on this one..Now if you and the GOP can halfway
understand what we Americans want and what we will standup
for, then we may be on the right path..No more conservatives
in name only, the real deal are no deal on our part.....
Newt is wrong
Vote for Hoffman is vote for what is correct! Dede is out. Vote for Hoffman is truely a vote against Dems!
NewtGi ngrich on Hoffman
One last thing Newt. Id suggest you spend more time with your FOX NEWS colleague, Mr Glenn Beck. Mr Beck has the pulse of americans whove had it with COMMUNIST DEMOCRATS and there RINO enablers. Look at his ratings, hes beating the commie scum at MSNBC by droves and hes not even in FOXES prime time lineup, save for the segments he does on Bill Oreillys show. Perhaps youve been in DC too long Newt, Id suggest you get in a semi and drive thru the real America and return to the Newt Gingrich who brought us the Contract with America.
Independent
The republican party is so out of touch,we must push and support any independent who will support the voice of the people.I as many have seen we the people do not wish to have higher taxes, more government, and no health care that cost us our freedoms.Newt..before you support a republican check their agenda..and you may find that the one your assisting is in Pelosi's net.Time has come for a change ,and we the people must make a difference in Washington, remove those old heads who have them shoved up this administrations rear end.Vote for a change not what we have,as it is plain as day we are in trouble in our homeland.

It is clear as a bell that we the people need a new Party.
Please lets us the web while we still can and form a new conservative Party
