Hurray for Apple Cider! Madison Square Park to Get Autumn Market
A new autumn market is coming to Madison Square Park, care of the folks who organize the Union Square holiday market, along with the public-private Madison Square Park Conservancy that manages the greensward on behalf of the city.
Starting Columbus Day weekend, and extending through Halloween weekend, the west side of Madison Square Park will be host to a seven-days-a-week, open-air, artisan fair.
"It definitely has an autumn, fall, fashion and food theme," said Eldon Scott, president of U.S. operations for Urban Space Management, the firm that operates the Union Square and Columbus Circle holiday markets every winter.
Mr. Scott was otherwise tight-lipped on details. But a formal announcement will be coming soon!

Park privatization
Parks privatized by corporations and BIDs (Business Improvement Districts) that set up fake vending markets at the same time they try to destroy legal vending throughout the city. What's so great about it? It rips off vendors and the entire public.
