Vogue publisher Susan Plagemann went on Bloomberg TV to talk about Vogue‘s new stylist app, which is sort of like Cher’s closet in Clueless except with advertisers. It displays trends (“floaty dress,” “statement sandal”) then allows viewer to upload their own clothes, shop, and select outfits.
“The beautiful thing about it is that you can actually shop directly on the app,” Plagemann says. “So you may see a statement sandal that you fell in love with, and then you go to niemans.com and you purchase it.”
How is the stylist’s content distinguished from regular Vogue?
“It’s all advertiser-focused,” she explains. Ah ha.
Thank God Vogue‘s advertisers are finally getting their chance to shine.
