N.Y.U. journalism professor Yvonne Latty has produced a video promoting participation in The Local East Village, a hyperlocal blog run in collaboration with The New York Times:

According to the video, N.Y.U. is “committed to making sure that students leave the program with the skills they need to hit the ground running in this profession.” Skills, but not many rosy employment prospects, or any money.
