Our Man on the Kindle! Graham Greene Heads to E-Book Format

Random House announced today that it will be taking Graham Greene to e-readers in a big way this fall, bringing 24 of his novels to the Kindle, Sony Reader, iPod and iPad format come October 2.

Richard Cable, managing director at CCV, the Random House imprint that publishes Greene, told Foyles, “Greene’s work is a bedrock of the Vintage Classics list and it is a significant and exciting moment in the fast-developing digital world to be able to announce the publication of his titles into our ebook programme.”

More than anything else, this news serves as a reminder that sometimes immensely popular authors still aren’t available on newfangled devices due to various rights issues. Despite his recent wave popularity, Roberto Bolaño remains unpublished on the format, as does J.D. Salinger. Compare that to Infinite Jest, which literally has its own iPhone app.
