This weekend saw the first of what we anticipate will be many days of increasingly warm and pleasant weather. The Times has published an article about this.
It is technically about the seasonal return of outdoor dining (a transition that’s taking place “earlier each year”), but the description is more than a little cranky:
Diners piled into those sidewalk seats, some under sunlight and heat lamps that maintained an illusion of spring, which is not due for two weeks. Others huddled in their coats, hats and scarves, picking at so many plates of eggs Benedict with hollandaise congealed in the cold.
Killjoys.
