Gillibrand: If It’s True, He Has to Resign

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, who was appointed by David Paterson, puts a whole lot of distance between herself and the governor, telling NY1:

At the end of the day, if the allegations of abuse of power are true,  then the governor will be unable to govern and he will have to step down. Domestic violence and abuse of power have no place in our society and certainly no place in our government.  The allegations that have been made are very, very serious.  Attorney General [Andrew] Cuomo is going to run a thorough investigation.  I expect everyone in the administration to cooperate fully with that investigation.

The quotes are from a transcript NY1 sent out of their interview with Gillibrand, airing later tonight.
