Bloomberg 2012. In Theory.

Kevin Sheekey, take note.

Here’s a very hypothetical (and very early!) web video for a 2012 Bloomberg presidential campaign, made by four students as part of an "Advertisement Project."

The YouTube text includes this disclaimer: "This is NOT an official video and was NOT paid for by the Bloomberg campaign or company."

In addition to other predictions for the future, it hopefully refers to Bloomberg as a “three-time mayor” of New York City, and posits that he turned a $6 billion deficit into a $3 billion surplus. (We'll see.)

The minute-long video ends with a voice—clearly not Michael Bloomberg—saying, “I’m Michael Bloomberg and I approve this message.”

Here’s the script:

"George Bush’s poor oversight of the economy resulted in a financial disaster. Barack Obama’s obsessive spending and promises of change failed to get us out. We can’t trust the Republicans or the Democrats to solve our country’s problems.

It’s time for a new kind of leadership. An independent voice. Michael Bloomberg is a proven leader as a three-time mayor of New York City. He understands the economy. As mayor, Bloomberg turned a $6 billion deficit into a $3 billion surplus. Not only experienced in government and business, Bloomberg is a man of the people. He understands the direction our country must take.

Tough economic times call for a new type of leader. Democrats and Republicans are not the answer.

When Floridians go to the polls this November, make the independent choice. Vote Michael Bloomberg for president."
