If You Were Thinking of Hiding Things in Your Coffee, Don't

There’s a new security measure being enforced at City Hall: cups of coffee have to be sent through the X-ray machine. (As I found out this morning, this increases their chances of being knocked over and spilling all over the place.)
Previously, people who worked at City Hall were allowed to carry keep their coffee with them as they passed through the magnetometer by the security check-in.
UPDATE: A well-placed source tells me the coffee-scanning may not be the result of a new policy, but rather of one guard’s initiative.
