A Quick Session, With Another Tomorrow
June 25, 2009 | 2:57 p.m
ALBANY—This is going to be quick.
Both sides in the never-ending State Senate leadership struggle have agreed to gavel in and gavel off the floor—separately—with the Democrats going first, Senate Secretary Angelo Aponte said.
This comes as Democrats blast David Paterson for calling these special sessions, which they are describing as abusive and a waste of time.
Paterson has called another for noon on Friday, according to a proclamation issued earlier.
UPDATE: Both sides gaveled in and out. the Democrats lasted 3 minutes 12 seconds, the Republicans, 2:30.
The Democrats read a resolution about the death of Rebbe Schneerson that seems to have put them over the top, time-wise.
