Delegation Getting Used to the Idea of an Unchallenged Gillibrand

As Thrush reports that Carolyn Maloney is leaning against the idea of challenging Kirsten Gillibrand in a Senate primary, one source in the New York delegation says that the members are getting more and more used to the idea that Gillibrand will indeed go unchallenged and be the state's junior senator for the foreseeable future.

"There is a settling-in that this is the way it's going to be," said the member, a Democrat, who added that the delegation, as a result, was acting accordingly.  "I have heard less bad-mouthing of Gillibrand."

The Maloney campaign is doing its best to show signs of life.

"We're still moving forward and we'll have more to say when Congress enters its recess," said Maloney spokesman Richard Fife.
