Paterson's Other Chances to Diversify

Amid the speculation about the different demographic groups that David Paterson needs to appease when deciding who will replace Hillary Clinton in the Senate, there’s one important detail that’s been overlooked: he doesn’t necessarily need to satisfy everyone with this one decision.
As an informed reader pointed out to me, Paterson has a few vacancies to fill. In addition to the Senate vacancy, he's also going to get to make decisions involving lieutenant governor and chief judge positions.
It's an argument, in any case, that against that magical Habermanesque candidate and for a downstate white male like Andrew Cuomo ( resentments from Paterson's circle about Cuomo's alleged self-promotion notwithstanding) or Tom Suozzi.
For what it's worth.
