Although I don't regard executions are immoral (some folks really don't deserve to live), I oppose the death penalty because the criminal justice system is capable of ghastly injustices, and death is, under science as we know it in 2006, irreversible. So, another good reason to support Suozzi!
Spittzer is not only pro-death, he practically ran as the angel of death in his 1994 race for AG, complete with pro-death push-polling.
Morevoer, while I'm allergic to neo-con policy wonks (except, perhaps as a token on a far more broad-based team), I do remember that Spitzer once founded and funded his own neo-con think tank, in partnership with his Republican pal, Dennis Saffran, who later ran against Tony Avella.
Frankly, while Spitzer may sing a more liberal tune these days on most, but certainly not all, issues (Suozzi seems more inclined to comply with the CFE ruling), both these guys have little claim to being left of the party's center, which is just fine with me.

I am grateful to be corrected.
