Bloomie's new greening initiative is such a joke. Under the leadership of Doctoroff, something like a 20 person committee, is supposed to do what? Executive leadership would require comprehensive executive action, greening the rooftops or repainting them light colors, Executive orders vis new construction of bldgs using energy efficient, "green " designs and technologies, etc. bio-fueled buses and other City vehicles, cheaper, longer lasting light-bulbs, etc. Why such an "uber" committee? Because neither Bloomie nor Doctoroff want anything to get done that would change their development plans or hurt those of Ratner.
