It looks like most of the Exec Board on Staten Island will be supporting Danny Lavelle for the Assembly seat his dad held when he passed away. While we all have sympathy for the family is that the best way for the community to be served? The nomination by the exec board is basically an election to the office as no one will stand in opposition at the county level, there is no petitioning, and it is a heavily Democratic district.

No one can find a reason to support Danny Lavelle other than his Dad was the Assemblyman but why should this be enough?
