Mike (not verified) says:

Dear Fellow Mondoweiss Readers -- I enjoy reading Phil because he is always thought-provoking. Given that, I am not surprised that some people violently disagree with him. I don't always agree with him myself. I would like to issue a plea, however, for a bit of decorum in the discussion. Frankly, the ad hominem nature of a number of posts is getting out of control. I regret this because I may be missing important points that are being made in them as I stop reading them and avoid certain regular posters altogether. If you disagree with someone, the most devastating reposte is simply a straightforward and cold-blooded response based on facts and logic. If you want to persuade other readers, that approach will be far more effective than name-calling, in my opinion. Sincerely, Mike
