Scott Baker (not verified) says:

The city recently installed new greenway signs on the "necklace" greenway around Manhattan. These signs show all current and planned greenway sections EXCEPT that past the the U.N. and Sutton Place. A few residents of Sutton Place should not be allowed to block the city's commitment to provide a complete circumnavigational route around Manhattan island. By doing so, they are endangering the lives of bicyclists who then have to ride the most dangerous 20 blocks in the city between 40-60 streets on York, First, and Second Avenues. According to Our Town, 6 cyclists have been killed in 10 years on this most congested on-street section of the Greenway. The city has made a committment to completing a Greenway around the island, dating back more than 10 years, and the single block contested by 1 Sutton Place should not be used to impede progress for bikers, walkers and other people besides those who dubiously claim the exclusive right to the waterfront.
