Evangelicals don't criticize other evangelicals? What planet are you living on?
John Hagee and other "prosperity theology" preachers are not generally respected by mainstream evangelicals; yes, these guys have a following, but it is not nearly as large a group as those evangelicals who are embarassed by this unbiblical ideology. All the preachers you mentioned combined don't deliver nearly as many votes for the Republicans as hatemongers like Al Sharpton deliver to the Democats.
Charles Stanley, Chuck Swindoll, Billy Graham, Franklin Graham, Chuck Colson, Ravi Zacharius, James Dobson, John Eldredge; strange how you never mentioned these men in your article. Perhaps that is because you wish to pretend that there are no men of character and intellect preaching the simple Gospel over the airwaves.
The fallen men you invoke as symbols of hypocrisy have indeed embarrassed the conservative movement. But is it not also hypocrisy to say that a person's sex life is nobody's business, but then use the sexual failings of your enemies against not only them, but anyone who agrees with their politics? These men should not be allowed to serve in any official capacity until such time as they can demonstrate that they have truly repented.
But Christianity is founded on the principle that "ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God". If we didn't let sinners serve we would have nobody to serve. What we will not tolerate, however, is someone unapologetically sinning, leading others to sin, and continuing in leadership. That is the difference between our faith and Hillary Clinton's.
