GREGG PETERS (not verified) says:

It is rather appalling that these Englishmen like Wood and Hitchens have seemed to latch on to the America literary scene. Hitchens is vulgar, and something of a hack. Wood is not. But what is it with this reverence towards Bellow? Bellow is intelligent, but certainly his novels don't quite pack the punch of great or worthy literature.

Still, it is sad the Wood and Hitchens are so prominent. And I am quite sure they think American culture is the land of the unwashed.
