They say you learn a lot more from your failures than your successes and that definitely seems to be true with Dukakis. The idea of precinct captains is a good one. In many ways, it is the Dem equivilent of what Karl Rove and Co did with the churches in 2004. That alone will not win you the White House but I think people underestimate the importance of grassroots campaigning.
