Yes, Mr. Yee rapes the protagonist violently–a bit redundant, no? since when is rape not violent?–, but does she like it? I don't think we can come to that conclusion. In fact, we spectators are left wondering about the nature of that conflicted relationship. This film is all about love and politics,it asks questions, does not answer them. It's beautifully photographed, and for me, not long at all.
