D van Goidtsnoven (not verified) says:

I fondly remember that 2004 "Listen to This" article--I felt it said a lot that needed to be said. I have run a young professional's group for one of the top-10 US orchestras for many years, and have tried to focus on many of the same things to increase the relevance of orchestral music, and increase interest in concert life among the pre-80 crowd. I've done several pre-concert lectures, brought in guest speakers including under-40 composers premiering works with the orchestra and under-40 members of the band. Membership and interest is growing, so now I am embarking upon creating a new organization here--in search of an Anacreon (to lend name and inspire to boot), and perhaps Mr. Ross would oblige?
Also, note the Wilson Quarterly review of Noise by Jan Swafford, the eminent Ives biogapher and pretty-decent composer.
