Earl Sandwich (not verified) says:

Glenn C. Altshuler is not qualified to review this publication. He is shallow, disingenuous, slanted, myopic and ill informed. I will elaborate on these adjectives after I state my own credentials to sit in judgment of him, as he has done to Mr. Gasparino and his magnum opus.

I have an intimate familiarity with all of the players that he references in his review as a result of my long career in the industry. Like him, I have also spent considerable time on the faculty of a globally recognized academic institution. Unlike him, I do not allow my personal and political relationships to shape my views.

One need go no further than the title of this review to see the blatant biases of Mr. Altshuler (or should I mimic his childish form of name calling by referring to him as the Asinine Academic - AA for short). By labeling Mr. Grasso as "Greedy Grasso" in his headlines, AA tips his prejudiced perspective. The simple fact of the matter is that, love him or hate him, Grasso did indeed accomplish all of those things referenced by Mr. Gasparino. While the NYSE is still milking the brand awareness built by Grasso, AA fails to comprehend that this guy really did list over 75% of the companies currently listed on the NYSE today. His marketing antics remain legendary. His accomplishments were unprecedented. His impact was virtually incalculable. Far from greedy, the little guy in the dark suit produced literally billions of dollars of revenue and was worth every nickel he was paid. Somehow, these simple facts seem to escape AA.

It is obvious to me that AA is not a stupid man. In fact, he is quite educated. So, how could such a man be so wrong? Easy: he is little more than a pimp for Eliot Spitzer who is one of the real villains of this corporate drama. A simple Google search will show any interested party the close allegiances of AA to our illustrious Governor, whom he likes to label the “Crusader”. AA has allowed his political leanings to impair his judgment. Gasparino has done us all a favor by shedding light on the fraud perpetrated on the public by the Governor and his cronies. Shame on you AA. Ceteris paribus, you should have recused yourself from reviewing this book. You know better – we hope.
