IMHO, this is very poorly written. First there's a party being held on a stage. Okay. Then, suddenly at the end of the story an "audience" appears. It's not on the stage and has to watch everyone on the stage eat and drink. How and when did this audience suddenly appear? Where was it during all the conversing that constitutes most of the piece? Rewrite!
