I can't think of a single organization that Murdoch has touched that hasn't turned into crap of one form or another. Not a single one. He's the George W. Bush of the media industry with the Reverse Midas Touch. Ah, you say! But he's made millions! Yes, and so has the cocaine cartel. Making money isn't the key measurement in this case. Making money is a necessary but not sufficient condition (and not even necessary in the case of the Washington Times, hello?).
