This isn't a bad review, but the reviewer really didn't get the film. My sense is that he's overwriting; trying to draw on the essential coolness of this film but failing miserably.

In addition to the points made above, the review mischaracterizes what the husband does. He is in a marriage he doesn't want to be in, and freaks out - but he doesn't exactly make a "testosterone" driven pass at Juno.

I hate to be critical, but Observer, please think of getting a new film critic. This review is a shame for this newspaper.
