Laon (not verified) says:

Dennis Dutton from ALDaily sent me here, and I don't quite know why.

Because this is one of the weirdest things I've read recently. The thing about the English teacher in Sudan and the blasphemous teddybear is the main competition, for just plain WTF? strangeness.

Far as I can make out from the tone, the person who wrote this piece wants to say something malicious about Salman Rushdie, doesn't have any content, but has a go anyway. So what we get is the NY Observer saying: "Salman Rushdie goes out with women, yuck!"

I mean, what, is Doree Shafrir seven years old or something?

The Observer has something against men and women going out?

I'm going to forget this mystery the moment I hit "send", but seriously, this piece loops out past ordinary pointlessness and into the genuinely strange.
