To call the New York Knicks the NBA's marquee franchise is just plain wrong. Are you basing your argument on revenue, the number of overstuffed journalists crowding the pre-game buffet? How can a team that hasn't won a championship since 1972 be considered the league's marquee franchise? The Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers, Chicago Bulls and San Antonio Spurs can all claim that title at one point over the last 30-35 years. How can anyone figure the Knicks in with these historic franchises? The Knicks are the league's marquee laughing stock.
