Fellow anonymous, I think the Romney snake oil thing means that Romney is a slick, disingenuous showman selling himself falsely as a high-quality, easy cure-all. He's the huckster AND the faux panacea. I think it's true and I thought it was clever of Choire to manage to nail two disagreeable personality traits with one metaphor.
