I have always found people pigeon-holing newspapers because of their editorial slant (liberal or conservative, Republican or Democratic)is short-sighted. When I lived in the U.S. the Wall Street Journal had some of the best political commentary and insight. Especially when Paul Gigot used to write for the paper.
It's my hope newspapers would wakeup to the idea of having a stand alone section for government / politics like they do for sports and business. We'd all be the better for it. Unfortunately, I have to wait every four years to get good political news and feature writing.
