No America doesn't care for Iraqis, and we want them kept far away from us. The real-world equivalents of these whining losers need to find the courage to defend themselves and make something recognizable as a human society of their foul and ignorant land-and that explicitly means arming themselves and killing those who would assassinate them and their families. But, again, that would require courage. Guilt-trippers like Packer ought to give up their American citizenship and take up Iraqi residency, and do what they can to civilize the place-surely there's a market for useless pontification there.
